In Iowa, a Tale of Politics, Power, and Contaminated Water

The Iowa chapters of the Sierra Club and Trout Unlimited just won an Iowa circuit court case that nullified Supreme Beef’s nutrient management plan to feed 11,600 beef cattle annually. The state Department of Natural Resources was directed to write a new plan that plaintiffs assert should dramatically reduce the number of animals, and the manure running off into Bloody Run Creek.
