The basic principles of natural justice are that the employee knows the case against them, has a chance to state their case in the light of that, and there is no bias/conflict of interest in the process. [...] I would want the transport manager to explain to me, if I did not know already, the significance to the operator’s licence of the potential misconduct and how that had been communicated to the driver before the event.
