14 th - CLEAN ENERGY MINISTERIAL (CEM14) - OUTCOMES AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

The Ministerial was hosted by the Ministry of Power and the Ministry of Science and Technology, organized by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) and Department of Science and Technology (DST), and supported by the PowerGrid Cooperation of India. [...] He presented an update to Ministers and Heads of Delegation on the status of clean energy deployment, the role of the CEM and its workstreams in helping members to achieve their clean energy priorities, and the opportunities to increase the impact of the CEM as a global implementation platform working closely with international fora such as the G7, G20 and UNFCCC COP process. [...] CEM14 was also an opportunity for Jean-François to attend and speak at a number of the events organised by the CEM community and to meet with many of the CEM’s members and partners to discuss their priorities and goals for the exciting year ahead. [...] The United States, Canada and Brazil have announced their intention to be part of the second cohort of countries developing and implementing the Action Plan to decarbonise and transform the power sector, in the run-up to the CEM-15 in Brazil. [...] The initiative’s global Ambassador programme is also thriving under the leadership of the United States and seeks to attract and inspire the next generation of women leaders in the clean energy sector by providing role models and champions for women in the energy sector.
