Africa Policy Research Institute

APRI – Africa Policy Research Institute is an independent and nonpartisan African think tank. It researches key policy issues affecting African countries and the African continent. APRI aims to provide insights to the German and European Union policy making process on Africa. In addition, APRI aims to provide policy options to African policymakers and civil society actors. As an independent think tank with strong institutional African partnerships, we seek to link rigorous evidence-based research to policy and practice, amplify existing work and co-create new ones. As a public-facing institute, APRI offers an innovative and engaging platform where policymakers, businesses, media, civil society organisations, and research communities from Africa and Europe can engage with each other. Our programmes are Economy and Society, Africa’s Climate Agenda, and Africa’s Digital Agenda. Under the programmes, we design research projects with our partners and collaborators. APRI’s core products, built on these programmes, are Policy Briefs, Commentaries, Short Analyses, and Briefing Notes. We will be expanding our offerings, range of products, and introducing new initiatives in the coming months.
