Akademie für Raumentwicklung in der Leibniz-Gemeinschaft

The ARL – Academy for Territorial Development in the Leibniz Association, is an independent institution under public law situated in Hanover. As a competence centre for sustainable territorial development, the research focus of the ARL is on national and international developments of spatial structures, their causes and effects, and policy and planning options for their management. The unique feature of the Academy is its integrative perspective, which is based on inter- and transdisciplinary cooperation in numerous working groups. This network involves active collaboration between elected academy members and further experts as well as young people from both academia and practice in the fields of spatial science research, spatial development and spatial planning.
