Americans for Prosperity (AFP) is a libertarian advocacy nonprofit associated with billionaire businessman and philanthropist Charles Koch and his late brother David. The organization was formed in 2004 after Citizens for a Sound Economy split into Americans for Prosperity and FreedomWorks. AFP engages in direct grassroots lobbying events as well as educational programs, policy research, and activist training. The organization is affiliated with the Americans for Prosperity Foundation, its 501(c)(3) educational and research arm.
