Summary The ESPON EGTC is a European Grouping on Territorial Cooperation. ESPON delivers territorial evidence for policy needs in various areas e.g. local development plans. The subjects of our user-oriented research projects are defined by the European Union, the 32 member states of the ESPON programme or directly by local authorities via so called analysis proposals. ESPON projects are divided into long term general “Applied Research Projects” and more specific “Targeted Analyses”. All of them together have in common that they serve you, whether you are a local policy maker, a government representative, an academic or just someone interested in territorial politics on an European level. ESPON projects follow a place-based approach and encourage capacity building.
