Greenpeace CEE

Greenpeace emerged with the efforts of some environmentalists against US atomic bomb tests. At the same time, the environmental movement began to form in Austria. In 1983, Austrian environmentalists founded the "Friends of Greenpeace", one year later they officially became part of Greenpeace International. Since 2000, the Austrian Greenpeace office has been the headquarters for Greenpeace in Central and Eastern Europe: Austria, Hungary, Croatia, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Bulgaria and Slovakia.
