IPCS is devoted to research on peace and security from a South Asian perspective. The institute strives to provide a comprehensive alternative framework for peace and security in the region, keeping pace with the changing dynamics of national, regional, and global security. The research focus of IPCS covers (1) disarmament and arms control; (2) non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction; (3) comprehensive and cooperative security; (4) non-military threats to security; (5) confidence building measures; (6) terrorism; (7) India-Pakistan relations; (8) regional cooperation in South Asia; (9) China's security policies; (10) security and governance; and (11) human security.
