Local Trust

Local Trust enables residents in 150 areas in England to transform and improve their lives and the places where they live. Local Trust is the delivery arm of Big Local which is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund. In contrast to conventional top down, time-limited, project-led funding, the funding (GBP1M minimum) awarded to each Big Local area was provided on the basis that it can be spent over 10-15 years at the communities’ own chosen pace, and on their own plans and priorities. This makes these programmes: long-term, resident-led, non-prescriptive, patient, non-judgmental and supported.
