Syrians (Arabic: سوريون‎, Sūriyyūn), also known as the Syrian people (Arabic: الشعب السوري‎, ALA-LC: al-sha‘ab al-Sūrī; Syriac: ܣܘܪܝܝܢ‎), are the majority inhabitants of Syria and share common Levantine Semitic roots.
