In the Netherlands, the labor market ischaracterized by a high amount of parttime jobs (mainly held by women) and acomparatively high share of temporaryemployment and self-employment.4 On the onehand, flexible jobs may make it easier to havejob seekers integrated in the labor market sincecompanies tend to hire employees temporarilyand leverage a long probation time to verifywhether the individual fits the organization’srequirements. Flexible work, on the other hand, may result in frequent and forced transitionsto other jobs, with increased risks of being(repeatedly) jobless.
