INTRODUCTION In recent years, the UK government has introduced several bespoke humanitarian routes in response to global events such as the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the collapse of the Afghan government and resurgence of the Taliban, and the placing of restrictions on Hongkongers’ freedoms by the Chinese government.
