The second phase started with a review of the internal document and RAP's participation in the Second Energy and Communities event in the city of Belem in Pará state, part of the Legal Amazon region in Brazil. [...] Small Communities' Information and Lack of Participation Many of the documents reviewed highlighted the lack of objective, comprehensive and publicly available information about the actual energy needs of communities, the adequacy of current levels of energy service in remote systems, the potential benefits of increasing access to clean energy, and the comparative costs of different resource alter. [...] The recently announced initiatives, such as the recovery of the Amazon Fund, the Action Plan for the Prevention and Control of Deforestation in the Legal Amazon (PPCDAM), new LpT and Energias da Amazônia may trigger some of the essential activities.
