The purpose will dictate what type of evaluation to conduct (refer to the “Forms of Evaluation” chart for more guidance) and will also help ensure clarity and transparency among evaluators and participating stakeholders. [...] Consider the intended goal of the evaluation again: Is it to demonstrate the program’s effectiveness to secure additional funding? Is it to identify areas for process improvement? Revisit the initial purpose and determine how to present the information in a manner that is accessible and compelling to the intended audience. [...] Even if there is the capacity to conduct an evaluation internally, that might not always be the best option, such as in instances where the relationship between community members and the city government is strained.
