6 Gilbert Brunet, former Chair of the WWRP Scientific Steering Committee (SSC) covered the following points: • The use of the Global Diagnostic Research Programme to influence the WMO agenda, resulting in enhanced services as did the Mesoscale Alpine Project; • A strategic plan for the WWRP in 2011, addressing the rapidly evolving technological landscape, including the increasing role of machine l.
