The present study served to provide inputs for a Commission’s evaluation of Directive 2011/93 on combating child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and the impact assessment on possible additional EU action in the area of CSAE. The core problems, drivers and issues of the fight against CSAE in the EU, the need for and the added value of EU action, as well as the relevant policy objectives were identified through detailed desk research and consultation activities.
