Encouragingly, and in contrast to the prior Jeddah talks: (i) officials from the UAE and Egypt (key third States influencing the conflict) are directly involved in the discussions, alongside Saudi Arabia and the US; and (ii) the warring parties are both represented by high-ranking decision makers.
