A new report published today tracks the progress made on gender equality in the EU. Over the past four years, several important milestones have advanced gender equality in the EU:
the Pay Transparency Directive strengthening the equal pay principle
new work-life balance rights for parents and carers
the European Care Strategy to ensure quality, affordable and accessible care services
the adoption of the Directive on Gender Balance on Corporate Boards
the EU’s accession to the Istanbul Convention to prevent and combat violence against women and domestic violence
the establishment of an EU network on the prevention of gender-based violence and domestic violence
