Climate change is on the verge of altering political, economic, and social systems in ways that could have far-reaching effects on U.S. security interests. This paper makes the case that research has yet to evaluate many of these possible effects. To help close this gap, the authors highlight areas that warrant closer study and illustrate why such research is needed to understand how climate change may affect the Department of the Air Force.
