In the context of information overload and the widespread dissemination of propaganda and disinformation, media literacy competences of both the creators of news media content (jour- 1 nalists) and the users of the media have become the key issues. [...] The fast pace of ICT developments outstripped the timely catching up of the legal and regulatory framework, the modernization of business models, the realignment of professional activities, the psychological and technological adjustment of the audiences for perception and creation of content in the variety of sources and outlets. [...] Among the risks that can be challenging to the effective management in parallel of the studies on the processes in the mediascape may be pointed out: - the insufficient consistency in tracking of the performances in each of the four examined do- mains separately and in relation to each other; - the overabundance of media monitoring data in some domains compared to the fragmented research in others. [...] Policy Brief Agent oriented analysis The achievements and the shortcomings in monitoring of the mediascape in the country is somehow interconnected with the achievements and the shortcomings of the developments of media system, which faced serious challenges according to the findings for all of the four studied domains.
