[...] EFFAT, the European Federation of Trade Unions in the Food, Agriculture and Tourism Sector to- gether with HOTREC, the umbrella Association of Hotels, Restaurants and Cafés in Europe agree that the lack of skills and workforce are amongst the main challenges facing the hospitality sector. [...] In addition, 30% of the workers in the sector are relatively unskilled, compared to 16% in the overall economy, meaning that the sector is inclusive and welcomes people with different profiles and back- grounds in the sector. [...] Social dialogue and collective bargaining on employment conditions that meet the expectations and interests of employers and workers and promote the image of the sector Trade unions and employers’ associations, knowing the situation in a sector, and being committed to fair and comprehensive negotiations, are best placed to find tailor-made solutions to pay and working conditions that meet workers'.
