Soft targets and crowded places (ST-CPs), such as arenas and schools, are easily accessible to large numbers of people and have limited security or protective measures in place, making them vulnerable to attack. Attacks on ST-CPs are rare but can take many lives and cause major societal fear. Researchers performed a landscape assessment of ST-CPs’ threats and vulnerabilities and recommend investments and priorities to prevent future attacks.
