The report examines how U.S. military veterans describe their endorsement of extremist groups and beliefs, their experiences in the military and transition to veteran status, and their path to their current beliefs and perspectives. The authors detail the findings from veteran interviews, which revealed considerable presence of negative and traumatic life events for interviewees while in the military and while adapting to civilian life.
