JANET SCHORER: Just to add, in terms of the centres of advanced manufacturing, what we heard very clearly from industry in consultation was the desire for the centres to also focus on what we deliver in terms of foundation trades, because the importance of the pipeline for skilled workforce into those sectors is really critical, as well as the overlay of microskills and micro-credentials to allow. [...] And I'm aware that there has been significant discussion with the Department of Education and, presumably, the education Minister about the high school and education facilities in the area. [...] At this time also, the former Minister granted in-principle approval for the redevelopment of the Milperra Campus, should sale of the overall site not be achieved on the terms envisaged by the university. [...] On 22 April 2020, the former Minister for Skills and Tertiary Education, the Hon Dr Geoff Lee MP, gave conditional approval for the part sale and redevelopment of the balance of the land at the Milperra Campus, subject to the university meeting several conditions around community use of land and facilities. [...] The temporary relocation plan is contingent upon the Health Infrastructure NSW delivery schedule, showcasing a strategic coordination between healthcare infrastructure development and the estimated costs and timeframes for the new campus and temporary relocation will be confirmed during the business case/planning phase, which is a matter best directed to the Minister for Health.
