High Level Roundtable on Green Jobs & Skills Development in Kenya

Background A roundtable bringing together multiple government ministries, key development partners, and relevant senior stakeholders will be held on April 17 as part of a consultative process towards the National Green Jobs and Skills Development workshop in Kenya.  The objectives of the roundtable meeting are; Align with government priorities: Understand key government pathways, deliverables, and key priority sectors to achieving the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda. Create linkages between green jobs and the outcomes of the Africa Climate Summit, as spelled out in the Nairobi Declaration and championed by H.E William Samoei Ruto Establishing ministerial focal points to support national coordination of green jobs development. Outline potential areas of collaboration to develop a legal framework supporting green jobs and skills development in Kenya. Target Audience: Government officials, education sector, youth, relevant private sector stakeholders, and UN agencies (UNEP, ILO and UNICEF)
