[...] In retaliation, the Defence Ministry of Afghanistan stated that the border forces of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan targeted the military bases of the Pakistan army across the Durand Line with heavy weapons. [...] The National Coordinator of the Apex and Executive Committees and Director General of the Implementation Committee are all from the Pakistan Army.20 Some economic experts have pointed out that the presence of the army chief on the apex committee of the SIFC, while the military has direct commercial interests, undermines the confidence that the policymakers will be able to achieve their desired obj. [...] On the same day, President Ramchandra Paudel removed three province heads on the government's recommendation, as they were appointed under the quota of the Nepali Congress when the party was in the ruling coalition.43 There is much speculation about the break-up of the old coalition.
