The Background Report aimed at addressing three primary objectives: i) Providing a conceptual framework for the implementation of the research, in order to define the main target group of the project and outline the main characteristics and challenges associated with such definition; ii) Examining the main migration trends and patterns in light of the main historical developments of the country, i. [...] The meeting saw the participation of Iraqi counterparts active in the area of migration and related service provision, both from civil society and at the governmental level, including the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (MoLSA) of the Kurdistan Regional Government, the Ministry of Planning (MoP), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), and the Ministry of Interior (MoI) of the Central Govern.
