The release of such generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools as ChatGPT in 2022 was a major advancement in the field of AI. In this report, the authors use surveys and interviews with educators to take a first look at how artificial intelligence is beginning to affect teaching and learning in kindergarten through grade 12 schools.
