Status of the Transition to a Nature-Positive Green Economy in Tanzania

Legislation is regarded as one of the three pillars of the government classified under the separation of powers as per the constitution of the United Republic of Tanzania. [...] The EMA (2004) calls for the conservation of biological diversity, the sustainable use of its components and the fair and equitable sharing of the benefits arising out of the utilisation of genetic resources. [...] Ministry of Finance Through the Ministry, the Government has continued to provide awareness and various guidelines to the public on the importance of environmental conservation for the benefit of present and future generations, and providing financial resources for the relevant interventions National Environment Management Undertakes the enforcement, compliance, Council (NEMC) review and monitorin. [...] 17 3.5 Limitations of the study A major limitation of the study was the unavailability of targeted respondents in some of the key institutions of interest. [...] Therefore, these findings lead to the following policy recommendations: First and foremost, the government should formulate the green economy policy and strategies to enable the effective implementation of the transition in a just way given the local context and resource need to bridge the infrastructure gap, human skills gap, and promoting rapid inclusive growth.
