This report presents our assessment of the relative importance of theseveral pollution problems and other man-induced chemical changes in theMediterranean Sea. It also presents an assessment of the relative importanceof marine pollution among other environmental problems currently encounteredin the Mediterranean region. It proposes additional ways to alleviate some ofthese environmental problems, through programs wholly or partly funded by theWorld Bank or the European Investment Bank.
