Consolidated Recommendations : Nigeria Social Protection Fiscal Space Study (English)

This note provides a consolidated set of recommendations for further enhancing the impact, efficiency, and sustainability of the social protection system in Nigeria. The recommendations stem from the findings of this fiscal space study as highlighted in chapters 1, 2, and 3. They are organized around three themes: (i) improving coverage and adequacy of social protection programs; (ii) making social protection programs and expenditures more efficient; and (iii) reforming institutions to deliver social protection programs effectively and at scale. These recommendations are expected to help Nigeria reduce poverty, protect those that are vulnerable, and foster human capital development for the present and the future of Nigeria.
