Mobility and Well-Being of Vulnerable Populations in Bogotá: Gender Gaps in Urban Mobility (English)

1 May 2024

In big cities in low- and middle-income countries, vulnerable populations often face challenges in accessing services and economic opportunities, owing to disadvantages stemming from spatial inequalities. Today, 55 percent of the world's population lives in urban areas, a proportion that is projected to rise to about 70 percent by 2050. Improving the mobility of vulnerable populations in large urban centers is therefore central to reduce poverty and enhance global well-being in a sustainable manner.
