Connecting Business Initiative Annual Report 2023

The Connecting Business initiative (CBi) Annual Report provides an overview of CBi's activities in private sector disaster preparedness, response, and recovery in 2023, together with stories and learning curves that go beyond the numbers. The objective is to show the human side of disaster management, the importance of leadership, and the importance of building bridges to strengthen the social fabric that we are all part of.In 2023, CBi’s 16 Member Networks represented over 1.3 million individual businesses in a wide range of industries. The Networks responded to 21 crises, including cyclones, floods, and more. Their emergency preparedness, response and recovery initiatives reached 18 million people, and over US$20.7 million was mobilized through in-kind and financial contributions from the private sector.
