Zambia: Changing of the Guard

Summary

This report looks at the political situation in Zambia after the defeat of President Kenneth Kaunda. Although political stability was provided by Kaunda, economic decline and social disintegration accompanied this. President Chiluba however is committed to change the situation and to increase relationships with South Africa.
