Data and Characteristics of the Illinois Public Community College System.

Data on the Illinois public community colleges, covering fiscal year (FY) 1990 and part of FY 1991, are presented in this report on the system's students, faculty, staff, instructional programs, operating finances, and capital construction. After introductory material provides a profile of the colleges and a map of college districts, section I presents tables showing student characteristics, including headcount data for fall 1990 by sex and type of attendance, instructional program area, age, ethnic origin, academic classification, type of residency, and enrollment status. In addition, this section offers information on proportions of district populations served, community education enrollments, and opening headcount and full-time equivalency student data for fall 1981 through fall 1990. Section II contains data on faculty and staff, including information on instructional faculty, administrative staff, non-teaching professional staff, and classified staff for fall 1990. Data on average base salaries, average class size, and percentage of on-campus classes by class size are also detailed. Section III presents program enrollment and completion data for 1990, including unduplicated enrollments by academic program, transfer and general studies degrees awarded, adult basic and adult secondary certificates awarded, and annual duplicated completers by program. Section IV contains financial data on apportionments, grants to colleges and instructional unit costs for each year since FY 1984, per capita costs, student tuition and fees, operating costs, revenues and expenditures, and energy usage and costs. Finally, section V provides data on facilities and college construction. (JMC)
