Guidelines to help districts comply with the laws and rules for the provision and implementation of alternative programs in Oregon are provided in this technical assistance manual. Chapters cover the following areas: Oregon revised statutes for alternative education; Oregon administrative rules for alternative education; state board of education policies; guidelines for school districts; Oregon School Boards Association selected sample projects; commonly asked questions and answers on alternative education; the 1988-89 student reporting format; application for registration and standards for private alternative instructional programs; community college alternative programs and their student accounting policies; and information about the Oregon Association for Alternatives in Education (OAAE).
