Partnerships The Centre works with the Department of Health and Community Services and the four RHAs to develop, implement and manage health information standards and provincial health information systems such as the provincial EHR and EMR. [...] Significant accounting policies (a) Purpose of the organization and nature of operations The Newfoundland and Labrador Centre for Health Information (the "Centre") was established by the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador in 1996, following the recommendation of the Health System Information Task Force (1995). [...] and the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, the Centre has been recognized for its contributions to the national agenda for development of the Electronic Health Record with the first provincial client registry designed and implemented for the Electronic Health Record. [...] In the prior year, the Centre recognized a loss on plan the settlement of $541,096, and received funding from the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador in the amount of $1,852,389 towards funding the payouts. [...] As the technology arm for the four Regional Health Authorities in the province, the Centre plays an integral role in the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador's response to the COVID-19 outbreak.
