The few ingredients are embellished with some spices and with care to create a treasured plate of food that is never wasted. [...] That was my introduction to the place of food at every stage of our lives. [...] Clearly, our food traditions are not just about the food on the plate, but the stories woven around it. [...] Food fads, the best diet, vegetarian or non- vegetarian or vegan, is street food unhygienic for our children and fast food unhealthy, should street vendors be banned, is our food richer in antibiotics and pesticides rather than nutrients, will artificial or cultivated meat soon become a reality in India, will it really decelerate climate change by curbing livestock production of methane. [...] This issue is a valuable addition to the corpus of literature on food and nutrition.
