“Enemies” Become Friends: Designing education activities that build understanding and positive attitudes among migrant students and Thai students

In history class, students should not learn only the chronology of history but they should be able to see the through the eyes and experiences of the people who lived in the past. [...] The next section is the synopsis of the activities and lesson plans that the researcher collaboratively designed with teachers in the three schools. [...] The researcher asked the teachers, kindergarteners and the elder sisters and brothers of kindergarteners about the benefits of having the bilingual children songs. [...] The Thai students were the ones wearing the dresses while hill tribe students explained to the whole class the meanings of color and decoration on the costumes. [...] According to the national curriculum, the objectives of this unit on the symbol of Thailand were 1) students can tell what the symbols of Thailand are; and 2) students understand the importance of the symbols of Thailand.
