ATTITUDES TOWARD LGBTQ PEOPLE IN CHINA Research on attitudes towards LGBTQ individuals and the LGBTQ community among the general population in mainland China is limited; most studies do not use national probability samples, and the results are mixed and difficult to interpret in any clear way. [...] Close to half of respondents (45%) said that they “didn’t mind”19 being exposed to LGBTQ content in the media, and one-half (50%) of respondents agreed that, in line with Chinese values of justice and equality, companies should promote the acceptance of LGBTQ people (Figure 5). [...] At the beginning of the survey, an information sheet was provided to respondents that included information on the research entities conducting the survey, their contact information, funding sources, aims, risks, benefits, duration of the survey, and the confidential and voluntary nature of the survey.
