These leaders and activists stand on the front lines of advocating for the housing rights of the informal workers, and we have designed this manual to help them guide the social activists they will train to explore the necessary legal, strategic, and advocacy tools to navigate the intricate landscape of urban housing policies. [...] It is my sincere hope that as a valuable training resource, the manual will contribute to the empowering of a new generation of social justice leaders to champion the cause of the housing rights of informal workers, to develop their understanding of the collective struggles and approaches of the marginal community and ensuring that their rights are not just recognised but are actively upheld.
