and (ix) analysing the global biodiversity of edible insects to guide policies on their conservation and domestication as sustainable food and feed sources; and describing factors influencing insect distribution, commonalities at regional and national levels, and the contribution of insects to the planetary food systems. [...] The findings of this study suggest active unnoticed circulation of CCHFV in the study area and the involvement of livestock, rodents, and humans in the circulation of CCHFV in Kenya. [...] Determination of the infection level in tsetse flies, species of trypanosomes circulating in vectors, the source of tsetse blood meal and endosymbionts is crucial in understanding the epidemiology of the disease in animals and humans in the region. [...] The practice of eating insects is linked to the culture of people in Africa, Asia, and Latin America, while increased consciousness and the need for food sustainability and alternative sources of protein are driving most of the European countries to evaluate eating insects. [...] The presence of GH51 and GH43_16 enzyme families in the gut of BSFL were common in the BSFL reared on the highly lignocellulosic WH and BSG diets.
