Where settings reported that the number of staff that they had furloughed or made redundant since November was more than 120% of the number of staff they had employed in November, we did not include their responses in averages, on the assumption that this response was a typo or misunderstanding of the question. [...] While the long-term effects of these developments remain to be seen, this survey of nurseries in England, Scotland and Wales aims to give an indication of the short-term effects they are having on the staff employed in the sector.
