Such as the traditional festival of the Saint Vitus Organ nights, organized under the auspices of the Prague archbishop, in cooperation with the management of the Prague castle. [...] The entire life of Bishop Adalbert, misunderstood and refused from the beginning, was a dispute with the state power of those times, a dispute over the freedom of the Church and of man. [...] The personality of Jaroslav Němec, the actual project, and the event have received remarkable attention of the media and of the public. [...] In 2018, the Prague students joined the Masaryk School and the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures at the University of Chicago to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of Founding of Czechoslovakia by planting a linden tree next to the Masaryk Monument on Midway Plaisance. [...] Their recollections paint a more complex picture of the life on the other side of the Iron Curtain, from the Sputnik era reforms of the early 1960s, through the tumult of the 1968 Prague Spring and subsequent Soviet invasion, to the Velvet Revolution, the collapse of the Communist regime and the formation of Democratic Czechoslovakia in 1989.
