Iran: All-out attack on human rights: Submission to the 48th Session of the UPR Working Group, January - February 2025

16 Oct 2024

In this submission, Amnesty International raises concern about the ongoing crackdown on the rights to freedom of expression, association and peaceful assembly; arbitrary detention and unfair trials; enforced disappearance and torture and other ill-treatment; violations to the rights to freedom of religion or belief and the persecution of ethnic and linguistic minorities; LGBTI people’s rights; violence and discrimination against women and girls; impunity for crimes under international law, including the ongoing crimes against humanity relating to the mass enforced disappearances and extrajudicial executions of 1988; and the ongoing use of the death penalty.
