The aim of this KAP survey was to determine the level of knowledge, awareness, practice, attitudes, and behavioral practices of the population in Afghanistan about COVID-19 and also the impact of the disease on the health and socio- economic dimensions of their lives. [...] Furthermore, this survey focused on following specific objectives: 1) determining the level of knowledge, practice and awareness of communities in Afghanistan about COVID19; 2) exploring the practices and attitudes around COVID-19 in Afghanistan; 3) clarifying the effect of COVID-19 on the health aspects of people in the country; 4) identifying the socio-economic impact of COVID-19 on communities. [...] • As the findings of this study shows, the urban population has achieved a good level of knowledge regarding COVID-19 pandemic, so it is necessary for the government, especially the Ministry of Public Health to promote the knowledge of rural communities and focus on changing attitude and practices of communities at both rural and urban settings.
