The Roadmap on antimicrobial resistance for the WHO European Region 2023–2030supports Member States to identify, prioritize, implement and monitor high impactinterventions to tackle antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Organized aroundan AMR Compass, the Roadmap identifies five action areas and six enablersbased on a combination of the best available evidence and expert opinion, forMember States to adapt to their own national contexts. Each action area andenabler has a set of high-impact interventions and is intended as a practicaland adaptable tool for Member States to convene all relevant national AMRstakeholders, reach consensus on their priorities and inform the investmentcases for action on AMR.This comprehensive resource guide provides additional context, evidence andresources to support Member States with the implementation of the Roadmapon AMR. The 53 interventions of the Roadmap are presented in relation to therelevant action areas and enablers of the AMR Compass. Each intervention isdetailed by evidence-based actions and a rational to support its implementation.In addition, a series of personal stories, case examples and country experiencesfrom Member States and diverse stakeholders are included to help providecontext, inform a renewed focus on AMR and inspire movement from evidenceto action.
