Study to support the evaluation of the LIFE programme 2014-2020 :Final report

24 Oct 2024

This final report provides the results of the project ‘Support for evaluation of the LIFE programme 2014-2020’. The evaluation was implemented during the period June 2022 - July 2023. The objective of the study was to evaluate the contribution of the LIFE programme 2014-2020 to the European Union’s climate and environmental objectives and feed into its ex-post evaluation. The overall aim was to identify what worked well and what worked less well, to capture any lessons to be learned, and to make suggestions for improvements that might benefit the short and longer-term performance of the programme going forward. The purpose of this ex-post evaluation was to analyse the extent to which the LIFE Programme has achieved its objectives, including to the extent possible, the economic benefit achieved through the LIFE Programme as well as the impact and added value for the communities involved (art.27 LIFE regulation); this study is an ex-post independent and external evaluation report.
