Only the northern part of the corridor will pass more than 10km to the protected area of Djalélo which is a critical habitat for of the "Giraffe Gazelle", Litocranus walleri, a species with high biodiversity value and also shelters threatened species such as the Beira Antelope, the Soemmering Gazelle, the Pelzeln Gazelle and the Salt Dik-dik.
